Free 2026 Modular Fabrication Schedule Workbook in Excel

Free 2026 modular fabrication schedule Workbook in Excel with dashboard views, dates, owners, dependencies, source references, and exceptions.

Excel workbook by Workbook Systems EditorArticle by Workbook QA ReviewerPublished Updated Planning

Download this Free 2026 Modular Fabrication Schedule Workbook in Excel to organize fabrication activities, milestones, constraints, planned dates, responsible parties, and source references in one internal register. The workbook separates user-entered schedule information from calculated duration, variance, data-check, and exception results.

Its five worksheets are Dashboard, Setup, Schedule, Exceptions, and Instructions. The workbook reports entered records and calculated conditions only. It is designed for internal operational control of a modular construction fabrication schedule dataset. Supporting source documents remain outside the workbook, and users remain responsible for project-specific review, source records, field verification, and decisions.

Workbook previews are temporarily unavailable, so the download is withheld.

How to use this workbook

Set operating controls

Open Setup before reviewing the register. Enter an As Of Date in m/d/yyyy format, such as 9/5/2026. Enter the Upcoming Look-Ahead value in calendar days and the Late Finish Variance Threshold in calendar days. The As Of Date is user-maintained and is not linked to the computer date. These are editable operational controls and have no contractual, regulatory, or legal meaning.

Maintain the Schedule register

Enter one modular fabrication activity, milestone, or constraint per Schedule row. Complete Item ID, Project, Activity or Milestone, Responsible Party, Planned Start, Planned Finish, Dependency or Constraint, Status, and Source Reference. Enter Actual Finish when a record is complete. Use None in Dependency or Constraint when no dependency or constraint applies.

Select and confirm status

The available Schedule status selections are Not Started, In Progress, At Risk, and Complete. Select Complete only after entering an Actual Finish date. At Risk is a user-selected internal status. It is not automatically inferred from planned dates, actual dates, dependencies, or other Schedule values.

Review calculated views

Use Dashboard for record totals, completion rate, exception counts, average planned duration in days, and upcoming open items. Use Exceptions to review records with an exception flag and the open dependency and constraint view. Enter or revise data in Schedule columns A through J only. Columns K through N contain formula-driven outputs and should not be manually overwritten.

Benefits

  • Keeps fabrication activities, milestones, constraints, dates, owners, and source references in one register.

  • Calculates planned duration and finish variance using entered calendar-day dates.

  • Shows overdue, At Risk, late-completion, and input-review exception signals.

  • Summarizes controlled records, completion rate, open records, and upcoming items.

Features

  • Five worksheets: Dashboard, Setup, Schedule, Exceptions, and Instructions.

  • A controlled Schedule register with user-entry fields in columns A through J.

  • Date and list validation for Schedule dates and available status selections.

  • Formula-driven duration, variance, data-check, dashboard, and exception views.

Modular construction fabrication schedule register

This Excel workbook centers on a controlled Schedule register for modular construction fabrication activities, milestones, and constraints. The user-entered fields are Item ID, Project, Activity or Milestone, Responsible Party, Planned Start, Planned Finish, Dependency or Constraint, Actual Finish, Status, and Source Reference. The Schedule table spans columns A through N, with calculated outputs maintained in the last four columns.

Each Schedule record ties one trackable item to dates, ownership, and a source reference. A source reference can identify a schedule revision, meeting record, fabrication plan, log, or other supporting record. The workbook does not confirm that a source exists, is current, or is complete.

Fabrication schedule calculations and data checks

Planned Duration (days) equals Planned Finish minus Planned Start through calendar-day date subtraction. Finish Variance (days) equals Actual Finish minus Planned Finish. A positive finish variance indicates that the entered actual finish is later than the entered planned finish. These outputs depend on valid dates entered in the Schedule register.

The Data Check output can identify missing required inputs, a Complete status without an actual finish date, an actual finish that is not a date, or a planned finish earlier than planned start. Data Check is an input-review signal, not a verification of field conditions or source evidence.

Overdue and late-completion review

An item is identified as Overdue when it is not Complete and its Planned Finish is before the editable As Of Date. An item is identified as Late Completion when it is Complete and its Finish Variance exceeds the editable Late Finish Variance Threshold in calendar days. An At Risk exception follows the user-selected At Risk status.

The Dashboard counts overdue items, At Risk items, late completed items, and records needing input review. The exception counts can overlap because one record may have more than one signal. The dashboard chart is based on those exception-type record counts.

Upcoming items and dependency visibility

The Dashboard includes an upcoming-item view for open records with planned starts from the As Of Date through the configured look-ahead period. It displays the controlled record fields alongside calculated planned duration, finish variance, data check, and exception flag. Adjust the look-ahead period on Setup to support the team’s internal review window.

The Exceptions worksheet includes current exceptions and an open dependency and constraint view. This view presents user-entered dependency or constraint descriptions. It does not calculate network logic, critical path, float, sequencing validation, resource loading, production capacity, procurement status, delivery status, quality acceptance, or USD cost and payment information.

Frequently asked questions

What does this workbook calculate?

The workbook calculates planned duration in calendar days, finish variance in calendar days, overdue item count, and completion rate. It also produces data-check and exception results from user-entered Schedule records and operating controls on Setup.

How is completion rate calculated?

Completion Rate equals the count of Schedule records with a Complete status divided by the total count of records with an Item ID. It is a register-based measure, not a measure of physical installation, production output, or acceptance.

What information should be entered for every record?

Enter the item ID, project, activity or milestone, responsible party, planned start, planned finish, dependency or constraint, status, and source reference. Enter an actual finish date when the status is Complete. Use the source reference to identify the supporting record outside the workbook.

Does the dependency view calculate critical path?

No. The dependency and constraint view lists user-entered descriptions only. It does not calculate critical path, float, network logic, sequencing validation, or production feasibility.

Does the workbook include cost or payment tracking?

No. The workbook contains no cost, payment, or USD currency field. Its functional scope is schedule records, responsibilities, dates, dependencies or constraints, source references, calculated status views, and internal exception review.
